The first known residents of Los Altos Hills were the Ohlone Indian. This lovely town eventually became incorporated in 1956 and is known for its beautiful rural setting. Los Altos Hills is home to some of the wealthiest people in Silicon Valley. Many earlier homeowners built summer estates in Los Altos Hills, some which are still standing. Homeowners in this town are able to enjoy their vast lots. It is normal to see large mansions that include vineyards, tennis courts, and guesthouses.

Los Altos Hills is considered one of America’s Most Expensive Zip Codes to live in according to Forbes. It is listed #3, with an average home sale’s price of $7,755,000 in 2017. This community’s population was 8,501 as of 2016.

The schools in this neighborhood are top rated. The residents of this town are also very well educated with over 84% of residents having received a bachelor’s degree or higher. The median household income as of 2016 is $243,701.

According to Area Vibes, 67% of Los Altos Hills residents are reported to be Caucasian followed by Asians representing 29% of the town’s population. The median age of Los Altos Hills residents is higher than the national average, at 50 years of age.
