Mountain View started off as a stagecoach stop between San Francisco and San Jose and then became a booming farming community. Since the 1950s, Mountain View has transformed from a farming community to a thriving tech city home to many top tech companies such as Google, Intuit, LinkedIn and Symantec. Mountain View became an incorporated city in 1902.

 

With a population of over 80,447 as of 2016, Mountain View is one of the most populated cities in Santa Clara County.

This vibrant city has a very educated community with a little over 65% of their residents receiving a bachelor’s degree or higher. The median household income for Mountain View residents is $109,249.

A majority of Mountain View residents are Caucasian (about 78%) followed by Asian (about 7%). The median age of Mountain View residents is 43 years old.
